Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

A measurement of the spin of the ${\ensuremath{\Omega}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ hyperon produced through the exclusive process ${\ensuremath{\Xi}}_{c}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\Omega}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{K}^{+}$ is presented using a total integrated luminosity of $116\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ recorded with the BABAR detector at the ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ asymmetric-energy $B$ factory at SLAC. Under the assumption that the ${\ensuremath{\Xi}}_{c}^{0}$ has spin $1/2$, the angular distribution of the $\ensuremath{\Lambda}$ from ${\ensuremath{\Omega}}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ decay is inconsistent with all half-integer ${\ensuremath{\Omega}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ spin values other than $3/2$. Lower statistics data for the process ${\ensuremath{\Omega}}_{c}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\Omega}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$ from a $230\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ sample are also found to be consistent with ${\ensuremath{\Omega}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ spin $3/2$. If the ${\ensuremath{\Xi}}_{c}^{0}$ spin were $3/2$, an ${\ensuremath{\Omega}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ spin of $5/2$ could not be excluded.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
