Energy and Emission Estimator: A Prototype Tool for Designing Canadian Houses
Bibliographic record
Abstract
The energy and emission estimator (EEE) is a prototype tool that can be used by engineers and architects to estimate the energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, and cost associated with the life cycle operation of a house and the construction of its exterior envelope. The EEE tool is coupled with an existing energy analysis tool HOT2000, through the collaboration of Natural Resources Canada. The present paper presents the features of the EEE tool including its imports from the HOT2000 program, database, methods of calculation, and user interface. Two examples are presented to illustrate the use of the EEE tool.
Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
