Abstract
Science (AES/ISTS9 Microwave Group participated in a recent five week Polar expedition on board the research vessel FS POLARSTERN in the East Greenland sea during July - August 1990. The main objectives of the rogram were to study the physical and further modification to existing a gorithms using SSM/I sensor data. The atmospheric parameters as derived from radiometric observations will be compared with the sounding data obtained from the research vessel. The results of analyses with respect to some sea ice parameters will be presented. The aplicability of data obtained on board the POLARSTERN for the numerical ice motion medelling will be discussed.
