Abstract
En nous intéressant à la thématisation actuelle du plaisir alimentaire et aux représentations utilitaristes nouvelles qu’elle fait naître, nous proposons de repenser les articulations entre plaisirs et nécessités. Dans quelle mesure la thématisation du plaisir alimentaire renforce-t-elle les visées utilitaristes à son encontre ? Après s’être intéressé à l’actualité du plaisir sur fond d’obésité et en mobilisant différents intérêts à le promouvoir au sein de nos modes d’alimentation contemporains, cet article explore en quoi de récentes postures sur le plaisir s’avèrent associées à des logiques de type utilitariste. Il apparaît qu’en voulant démarquer la pensée sur le plaisir de visions renforçant son antagonisme avec la santé, les orientations proposées, du fait de la demande sociale entourant le plaisir, renforcent son utilité (sociale) et contribuent à sa refonte dans le domaine de la santé.
