Abstract
In this paper, we present a coplanar strip (CPS) UWB antenna-filter system, where high performances are achieved as a result of co-design. CPS structures, due to their balanced configuration, are very convenient for combination with UWB antennas, which generally require a differential excitation. The filter is a compact three-pole CPS structure, while the antenna is a CPS-fed loop. The two devices are integrated together and their combined performances are shown to be superior to those of the isolated components.
