Abstract
Cet article décrit et analyse les conditions de travail de jeunes serveuses de restaurant du quartier touristique de Hô Chí Minh-Ville, au Vietnam. Leur travail, dévalorisé, représente pourtant le moteur du lucratif secteur de la restauration. Le harcèlement sexuel est omniprésent dans beaucoup d’établissements et les rapports inégalitaires que vivent ces serveuses se complexifient par la présence de nombreux étrangers. Les attentes à leur égard dépassent le simple service aux tables. Aux prises avec la pauvreté, elles risquent d’être entraînées vers la prostitution. Pour résister au harcèlement et améliorer leurs conditions, elles mettent au point et adoptent, avec un succès relatif, diverses tactiques et stratégies.
