Abstract
Le but de cet article est d’établir la relation entre le style des directeurs et des directrices d’écoles et l’efficacité organisationnelle, mesurée à partir des résultats d’élèves de sixième année à un test standardisé de français écrit. Six écoles primaires participèrent à l’étude. Les résultats démontrent que les enseignants et les enseignantes des écoles jugées efficaces décrivent leurs directeurs et leurs directrices comme étant significativement plus équitables dans leurs relations avec leurs subordonnés, exerçant de façon beaucoup plus souple leur autorité et favorisant beaucoup plus les relations interpersonnelles avec eux que ceux et celles des écoles jugées inefficaces.
