Cet article propose une réflexion sur la production de « romans » au primaire. Il présente une conception renouvelée des activités de lecture et d’écriture dans l’univers de la fiction. L’auteure explique les diverses idéologies qui coexistent en didactique du français écrit au Québec, parmi lesquelles l’idéologie de la « production », et ce à propos des recommandations du Programme d’études en français au primaire, ainsi que du rôle des théoriciens, des didacticiens et des praticiens dans l’apprentissage. Enfin, l’auteure explicite, d’une part, ce qu’impliquent écrire de la fiction et écrire collectivement, et, d’autre part, quelles relations s’établissent entre roman et imagination. L’auteure conclut en insistant sur la nécessité d’une programmation rigoureuse se réclamant à la fois de la scientificité et de la narratologie.
