Abstract
118 OFFARM VOL 16 NUM 1 ENERO 2002 U hayedo de mas de 17.000 hectareas, donde tambien vive el roble, es el refugio del Basajaun, senor de los bosques. Habitado desde tiempos prehistoricos, diversos monumentos megaliticos dan testimonio de sus primeros pobladores, habitantes que siglos mas tarde rendirian culto —esta vez cristiano— a Santiago de Compostela, a traves del cercano Camino que abre Roncesvalles a sus peregrinos. Este valle, al nordeste de Pamplona, es angosto y quebrado, con localidades muy pequenas y tipicas viviendas pirenaicas, de tejados pronunciados y encalados muros. Por ello quedan muy delimitadas las areas de influencia, a las que son muy fieles sus clientes por las fronteras naturales que establecen los desfiladeros. En nuestro caso, el rio Irati que discurre por Aribe es canada tanto de agua como de trafico rodado, por lo que es una clara via de penetracion al borde de la cual se ESTUDIOS DE UBICACION Y VIABILIDAD
