Identification and activity of a phytotoxin produced byCalonectria ilicicola, the causal agent of soybean red crown rot
Bibliographic record
Abstract
Abstract A phytotoxin isolated from Calonectria ilicicola, the causal agent of soybean red crown rot, was identified as PF1070A, a cyclic peptide consisting of four amino acids. This compound is known as an antitumour antibiotic and to induce synthesis of metallothionein in mouse Ltk- cells. We tested PF1070A against three soybean cultivars that differ in susceptibility to C. ilicicola; however, there was no significant difference among their responses to the toxin. We determined the amount of PF1070A produced by 17 isolates of C. ilicicola, and found that there was a strong positive correlation between virulence and PF1070A production. Together, these results suggest that the phytotoxin PF1070A has a role in the virulence of C. ilicicola.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
