Abstract
L’amélioration de l’état de santé mentale constitue un enjeu majeur en santé publique. Parmi les troubles mentaux affectant la population, les troubles anxieux sont les plus fréquents. Devant l’ampleur de ces problèmes, la santé publique a pour mandat d’exercer une surveillance continue de l’évolution de ces troubles et de s’assurer que le système de soins dessert adéquatement la population sur les plans de la disponibilité, de l’accessibilité, de la continuité et de l’efficacité des services. De plus, elle voit à ce que des programmes de prévention et de promotion soient mis en place afin de s’attaquer aux facteurs de risques et de favoriser l’acquisition d’aptitudes favorables à une bonne santé mentale. Dans cet article, nous illustrons les interventions de la santé publique face à la problématique des troubles anxieux dans le contexte montréalais.
