Abstract
In common language there are a myriad of terms to describe sport clubs that form relationships with each other. Many of these terms are part of the natural discourse in business and management and they have been borrowed for use in studying this phenomenon as it relates to sporting organisations. The most commonly used terms are alliances, networks and partnerships
