Helgeson VS, Cohen S, Schulz R , et al. Long-term effects of educational and peer discussion group interventions on adjustment to breast cancer. Health Psychol2001 Sep; 20 : 387 –92 [OpenUrl][1][CrossRef][2][PubMed][3][Web of Science][4] QUESTIONS: In women with breast cancer, are the positive effects of a short term education intervention maintained over time? Does a peer discussion intervention have positive effects ≥1 year later? Randomised (unclear allocation concealment; unclear if blinded) controlled trial with a mean follow up of 40 months. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. 312 women who were 27–75 years of age (mean age 48 y, 93% Caucasian), had breast cancer (National Cancer Institute criteria stage I: 25%; stage II: 69%; and stage III: 6%), and had been treated by surgery (68% lumpectomy, 32% mastectomy) and adjuvant chemotherapy. Follow up was 83%. Women were allocated to education (n=79), peer discussion (n=74), education plus peer discussion (n=82), or control (n=77), approximately 3 months after diagnosis. Each group comprised 7 small groups of 8–12 women. Education consisted of 8 weekly 45 minute meetings … [1]: {openurl}?query=rft.jtitle%253DHealth%2Bpsychology%2B%253A%2B%2Bofficial%2Bjournal%2Bof%2Bthe%2BDivision%2Bof%2BHealth%2BPsychology%252C%2BAmerican%2BPsychological%2BAssociation%26rft.stitle%253DHealth%2BPsychol%26rft.aulast%253DHelgeson%26rft.auinit1%253DV.%2BS.%26rft.volume%253D20%26rft.issue%253D5%26rft.spage%253D387%26rft.epage%253D392%26rft.atitle%253DLong-term%2Beffects%2Bof%2Beducational%2Band%2Bpeer%2Bdiscussion%2Bgroup%2Binterventions%2Bon%2Badjustment%2Bto%2Bbreast%2Bcancer.%26rft_id%253Dinfo%253Adoi%252F10.1037%252F0278-6133.20.5.387%26rft_id%253Dinfo%253Apmid%252F11570653%26rft.genre%253Darticle%26rft_val_fmt%253Dinfo%253Aofi%252Ffmt%253Akev%253Amtx%253Ajournal%26ctx_ver%253DZ39.88-2004%26url_ver%253DZ39.88-2004%26url_ctx_fmt%253Dinfo%253Aofi%252Ffmt%253Akev%253Amtx%253Actx [2]: /lookup/external-ref?access_num=10.1037/0278-6133.20.5.387&link_type=DOI [3]: /lookup/external-ref?access_num=11570653&link_type=MED&atom=%2Febnurs%2F5%2F2%2F47.atom [4]: /lookup/external-ref?access_num=000170929600009&link_type=ISI

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
