Abstract
L’objectif de cet article est d’étudier l’efficacité des politiques publiques destinées à favoriser l’accès à l’emploi des jeunes. Une première partie s’attache à évaluer les dispositifs d’insertion professionnelle des jeunes, mis en place en France, à partir de l’Enquête « Génération 2001 ». Cette analyse conclut que le passage par un contrat aidé au cours des trois premières années de vie active n’améliore pas l’accès à un emploi. La seconde partie s’interroge alors sur la possibilité d’aller chercher des réponses dans les autres pays d’Europe, au Royaume-Uni et au Danemark. D’un côté, la diversité des systèmes nationaux rend difficile l’adoption d’une politique appliquée à l’étranger. D’un autre côté, il semble que la France pourrait néanmoins s’inspirer de certains principes mis en place au Danemark et au Royaume-Uni.
