Les trois participantes ont un intérêt pour leur langue maternelle, l'anglais et leur langue seconde, le français.Elles n'ont pas opté pour la facilité en répondant dans leur langue maternelle, mais elles ont plutôt choisi d'intervenir en français.Par contre M01 a utilisé plus que les autres l'anglais, peut-être parce qu'elle provient du « core french ».Elles ont placé le français à la suite de leur langue maternelle, même si d'autres langues étaient présentes dans leur parcours de vie, comme l'italien résultant de l'immigration des grands-parents ou choisi délibérément.L'utilisation de la bulle par M01et S01 indique la fonction communicative de la langue.H01 envisage la fonction plus utilitaire de ces 2 langues rejetant l'italien.
