Esta tesis se desarrollo para una industria alimenticia de Guayaquil; la misma que corporativamente tiene desarrollado directrices a nivel global para alinearse al cumplimiento en lo definido en el Protocolo de Montreal, para poder de esta manera interactuar de forma amigable con el medio ambiente. Se realizo una descripcion del contenido del Protocolo de Montreal para conocer los acuerdos y recomendaciones en el uso de los distintos tipos de refrigerantes con sus respectivas fechas limites. Tambien, se realizo una descripcion de las areas, equipos de climatizacion y refrigeracion, y de la red de agua helada actual. Se hizo un calculo de cargas termicas tomando en cuenta cantidad de personas, lamparas o luminarias del sector, motores electricos, carga solar a traves del techo y por paredes. Se dimensionaron las redes de tuberias de agua helada, se verifico la capacidad actual de los equipos enfriadores de agua, que usan Freon R–22 de la Planta y el consumo de energia electrica actual.
