Abstract
Le suicide de patients hospitalisés constitue actuellement 5% de tous les suicides réussis et devient de plus en plus fréquent. Cet article fait une revue des publications récentes sur le sujet afin de préciser la fréquence et les caractéristiques du suicide de patients hospitalisés en milieu psychiatrique et général. Il précise divers facteurs de risque ainsi que des moyens pour prédire et prévenir le suicide en milieu hospitalier. Enfin, en raison de son important impact médico-légal, état est fait de la jurisprudence sur le sujet.
