La collaboration école-famille dans l’apprentissage des mathématiques selon la perception des adolescents

Abstract
Cet article traite de la perception qu’ont des adolescents de la collaboration école-famille dans l’apprentissage des mathématiques. L’influence du milieu familial est abordée sous l’angle des attentes et des croyances des parents et de la participation parentale au suivi scolaire. Les résultats montrent que selon la perception des adolescents, il existe une relation positive entre la participation parentale dans des activités d’apprentissage à domicile et le rendement en mathématiques. Deux exemples de programmes visant à favoriser ce type de participation parentale sont discutés. Une combinaison d’éléments de ces programmes apparaît comme une avenue intéressante pour assurer une continuité dans les apprentissages réalisés à l’école et à la maison, et pour promouvoir des interactions plus positives entre parents, enseignants et élèves quant à l’apprentissage des mathématiques.
