Abstract
L’état pitoyable de l’enseignement des sciences au Québec est dénoncé par nos médias d’information. Devant le peu de réactions positives à tous les échelons, il nous semble important de revenir sur la question. Le portrait d’un citoyen scientifiquement sous-développé sensibilisera peut-être davantage nos responsables à l’énormité d’une telle déficience dans notre culture. À notre avis, un enseignement moderne des sciences doit viser deux objectifs fondamentaux : sensibiliser tous les citoyens aux phénomènes scientifiques en leur assurant une formation de base et éveiller chez nos adolescents des vocations scientifiques nécessaires au développement de l’industrie et de l’économie d’un pays.
