Abstract
Les construits théoriques de l’enfance, de la famille et de la parenté aujourd’hui dominants rejoignent les parents qui adoptent un enfant – dans la présente recherche, à l’étranger. La théorie de l’attachement comme condition d’un développement normal ou souhaité de l’enfant devient une référence importante pour les parents, alors que d’autres facteurs du développement de ce dernier devraient être pris en considération. Elle induit des parents à se voir et à agir auprès de l’enfant adopté à la fois comme parents et comme intervenants – comme parents professionnels – ayant le devoir et la responsabilité d’instaurer le lien d’attachement qui permettra son développement affectif et social. Les témoignages de parents ayant adopté un enfant « grand » indiquent que l’histoire de chaque enfant avant son adoption et le nouveau contexte familial dans lequel l’inscrit celle-ci ont une influence importante dans la création d’un nouveau lien.
