Abstract
Le logement n'est pas un bien de consommation comme les autres et l'attachement affectif et identitaire que peut produire un lieu habité, les significations qui lui sont attribuées débordent son cadre purement physique et sa valeur marchande. Notamment, la perception qu'ont les " ménages ", confrontés à la question du logement et de leurs possibles résidentiels, est profondément marquée par la façon dont les générations familiales précédentes se sont elles-mêmes confrontées à cette question, lui ont apporté des solutions, ont transmis leurs expériences. À partir de quelques biographies individuelles et familiales centrées sur la question résidentielle, cet article s'attache à montrer en quoi l'espace résidentiel familial est un élément de la construction sociale des individus, et comment ces expériences familiales résidentielles fondent des stratégies résidentielles à leur tour constitutives des liens de famille.
