Abstract
Abstract This paper reports on the use of the bonded design methodology with an intergenerational research team in the development of an educational tool to assist students engaged in an inquiry‐based project. Bonded design was used to achieve two objectives: (1) Identify the process each student used to complete the inquiry‐based project and (2) design an educational tool to help future students engaged in the same project. Initial findings suggest that the process identified by the team members is in accordance with Kuhlthau's () Information Search Process (ISP) model, which formed the foundation of the proposed educational tool.
