Abstract
Hétéroclite, l’oeuvre de Cyrano de Bergerac offre pourtant une unité, par une dimension comique (pointe et burlesque) présente dans tous les textes et par la répétition de certains passages d’une oeuvre à l’autre. L’étude de la présence du lecteur et de la mise en scène du rire qui l’accompagne permet de dégager le rôle d’une répétition comme « écho-mention » porteuse de l’ironie libertine. On constate un décentrement du dire qui déstabilise le discours et sa réception par le lecteur, celui-ci étant plongé dans une labilité permanente. Ainsi cette forme de comique constitue moins une pédagogie universelle pour entrer dans l’oeuvre qu’elle ne confirme la dimension élitiste du libertinage érudit.
