Cet article entreprendra de mettre au jour, chez Chantal Chawaf, ce que l’on pourrait concevoir comme une parole « réparatrice ». Il s’agira de montrer, dans le cas de L’ombre (2004), comment le ressaisissement de l’être passe par la remémoration de la perte et par la suppression de la pulsion de vie en faveur de fantasmes de mort. La mémoire devient le lieu d’une torture, voire d’une agonie symbolique, par le ressassement de souvenirs traumatisants longtemps refoulés, méconnus ou passés sous silence, mais aussi celui d’une prise de conscience qui permet la renaissance de l’être désormais orienté vers une parole du corps qui est action pouvant guérir les psychoses. Une parole s’appuyant sur le retour aux couches de l’être non structuré par l’inégalité sociale, où la vie n’est pas encore schématisée, et par là, sur la possibilité d’une contiguïté humaine.
