Abstract
Depuis les années 1990, le pèlerinage à Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle attire de plus en plus de Québécois et de Québécoises. Comment expliquer un tel engouement pour un rituel millénaire? Faisant fi du verdict des « maîtres du soupçon », cette nouvelle vague de pèlerins réinscrit dans notre quotidienneté la question du spirituel, du religieux, du sacré. Dans la vingtaine de récits de pèlerins que nous avons analysés, les auteurs, en se remettant dans les pas de leurs aînés, nous exposent leur quête de filiation. Il s’agit toutefois d’une filiation paradoxale - posant fermement ses ruptures avec un passé clérico-conservateur - qui vise à redonner sens à un présent en déficit symbolique.
