Abstract
The manuscript cod. 163 in the National Library of Greece in Athens has not preserved any data about the time and place of its manufacture. Scholars have proposed a dating in the second half of the 12 th c. and provenance from Cyprus or Jerusalem. On the basis of stylistic analysis of the miniatures the author suggests another dating in the third quarter of the 11 th century and puts the miniatures of this manuscript in the context of Constantinopolitan painting of this transitional period.
