Abstract
Cette étude phénoménologique avait pour but de décrire l’expérience de la sexualité de femmes québécoises au mitan de la vie, atteintes d’un cancer du col utérin. Dix femmes ont accepté de participer à l’étude. Les résultats dévoilent un nouveau regard de la sexualité en raison du repositionnement de ces femmes sur leur vie et leur relation conjugale et des effets indésirables liés aux traitements. Les participantes ont témoigné de leur désir d’unir les sentiments amoureux aux plaisirs de la sexualité. Toutes ont éprouvé le besoin de parler des effets gênants et traumatisants des traitements sur leur sexualité. Ces résultats soulèvent la nécessité pour les infirmières de reconnaître les préoccupations sexuelles de ces femmes et de poursuivre la recherche dans ce domaine.
