Abstract
La question des séparations familiales prolongées secondaires aux procédures d'immigration a été étudiée dans le cadre d'une recherche portant sur 113 réfugiés originaires d'Afrique et d'Amérique centrale et latine. Les résultats indiquent que 80 % des répondants ont vécu ou vivent des séparations de leur conjoint et/ou de leurs enfants, d'une durée moyenne de trois ans. Ces séparations, souvent associées à des événements traumatiques, peuvent engendrer une détresse psychologique et entraver le processus d'adaptation au sein du pays hôte. Les résultats autorisent à penser que les procédures administratives employées par l'immigration devraient être révisées.
