Abstract

A novel internal monopole antenna design is presented in this paper that is intended for the handheld device. The proposed design covers GSM 800/900/1800/1900, GPS 1500, UMTS 2100, and Bluetooth 2400 bands. A broadband performance is obtained at all the frequencies of interest. The design is examined and optimized by measurements and simulations using a MoM-based solver. The results show excellent antenna performance.
