Regeneración y calidad de vida urbana en el centro antiguo de las ciudades de Montreal y México: una comparación

Abstract
La comprensión del continuo regeneración urbana (ru)-calidad de vida (cdv)-calidad del lugar (cdl) en dos de las más importantes ciudades de América del Norte como medio para recuperar al centro antiguo de una decadencia social, económica y ambiental se impone como prerrequisito en cualquier esfuerzo de planificación dirigido a esa meta. Para tal fin, en este artículo se presentan los antecedentes de regeneración (1970/1971-2000/2001) que se han llevado a cabo en los casos de estudio, para hacer un análisis estadístico mediante un programa spss del producto de dos encuestas de ru/cdv/cdl realizadas en el centro de las ciudades de Montreal (2006) y de México (2005). Los resultados confirman al centro de Montreal como el más consistentemente regenerado, que favorece más los atributos de cdl y –contrario a la ciudad de México– que apoya más los aspectos de cdv.
