Abstract
Le but de la présente recherche est de vérifier l’existence d’une relation entre le niveau de stress chez les directeurs et directrices d’écoles et un comportement de nature machiavélique chez ces personnes. Deux questionnaires furent distribués à 83 directeurs et directrices d’écoles secondaires francophones : 1. le questionnaire Administration Stress Index pour mesurer le stress lié au rôle, celui lié à la tâche, au management ainsi qu’à la gestion des conflits; 2. le questionnaire Machiavellian Scale Attitude Inventory pour mesurer sur un continuum l’orientation machiavélique chez les directeurs et directrices d’écoles. L’hypothèse de recherche ne se vérifie que partiellement : on ne peut établir de relation de dépendance entre le comportement machiavélique et les facteurs de stress reliés au rôle et aux conflits.
