L’article analyse les méandres de l’histoire et de la fiction dans les romans de Kourouma. Il vise à montrer la corrélation entre leurs aspects narratifs et thématiques. D’une part, l’unité de cette oeuvre iconoclaste se construit à partir des événements de l’histoire contemporaine de l’Afrique depuis l’époque coloniale jusqu’à maintenant. Et, d’autre part, contrairement aux discours dogmatiques — discours colonial, négritude, indépendance — ou à ceux de l’historien dont l’objet est la vérité, la fiction romanesque s’énonce sur la base d’une parodisation généralisée des idées établies sur l’histoire et la culture africaines.
