Abstract
Résumé Depuis la profonde opposition sur l’Irak, qui a vu éclater des tensions latentes depuis la fin de la guerre froide, les États-Unis et l’Europe sont confrontés à de difficiles questions sur ce qui les unit ou les sépare. Cependant, en dépit de différences durables et de changements sensibles dans leur position stratégique, les États-Unis, l’Europe et le Canada forment toujours une “communauté transatlantique”. Ils partagent encore des approches fondamentalement semblables de l’identité, des valeurs et de leurs intérêts nationaux. Aujourd’hui et pour l’avenir, ces piliers peuvent résister aux remous de la discorde politique.
