Résumé De par sa présence constante et sa place prédominante dans le débat francofrançais, le conflit du Proche-Orient est devenu un enjeu majeur et un thème de confrontation se situant au-dessus des clivages politiques traditionnels. Pour expliquer l’importance que revêt ce conflit en France d’autres ressorts sont à prendre en compte. En effet, il s’agit tout d’abord d’un conflit asymétrique d’ordre colonial qui oppose une armée à une population civile, punie par la construction du « mur » et les colonisations de peuplement. C’est également une guerre idéologique, massivement relayé par des médias qui exacerbent le communautarisme. Il s’agit finalement d’un conflit géopolitique qui, depuis les attentats du 11 septembre 2001, se joue sur le terrain de la manipulation de la langue et de l’information pour justifier une logique de guerre néoconservatrice.
