Abstract
Femmes héroïnes ou médecins à rabais ? Les images généralement accolées aux infirmières « de colonie » semblent battues en brèche devant les récits de ces femmes. Associées à la colonisation pour dispenser les soins de santé nécessaires au maintien des communautés locales, les infirmières « de colonie » ont contribué au développement des régions isolées du Québec au XXe siècle. Cette note fait le point sur une recherche en cours. Les auteures exposent le cadre d'analyse résument l'état des connaissances sur le sujet et mentionnent les problèmes relatifs à la reconstitution de cette histoire. Ces infirmières ont laissé des traces, en partie effacées, des traces sur la neige.
