Abstract
L'histoire de la culture québécoise et des recherches qui ont porté sur elle depuis 1960 se ramène à une défection de la référence : religion, conscience historique, langue, État, attestent de l'identité incertaine de cette culture. Ayant ainsi perdu ses repères, la société a fait place aux spécialistes de la culture. Sur la base de ce diagnostic, les auteurs proposent un bilan de la recherche, construit autour de quelques foyers de lecture : les idéologies, la conscience historique, l'imaginaire collectif, les genres de vie, les attitudes et comportements. En renouant le dialogue entre disciplines et à travers l'entrecroisement des préoccupations, la recherche scientifique sur la culture pourrait déboucher sur des considérations d'ensemble, qui actuellement lui font défaut.
