Abstract
Myriam Revault d’Allonnes a souvent illustré la précarité des constructions institutionnelles dans le monde contemporain et la difficulté de conserver un espace public où se construit l’intérêt général. Elle souligne ici l’indispensable exigence et aussi la fragilité intrinsèque d’un développement durable qui prône les valeurs d’équité et de démocratie. Considérant que « l’espace public n’est plus (alors) le lieu où se cristallise l’opinion, (...) mais où s’additionnent les expériences singulières et où triomphe l’individualisme de masse » , Myriam Revault d’Allonnes craint que manque cet espace de cristallisation de toute la communauté des citoyens pour assumer un développement plus durable qui conditionne sa survie, mais, en philosophe moraliste, prône les notions de responsabilité et de « durée publique » du commun pour y parvenir.
