Evaluación de la calidad de vida en pacientes con osteoartritis de rodilla y tratamiento rehabilitador

Abstract
Se realizo un estudio prospectivo, longitudinal, experimental de 50 pacientes con diagnostico de osteoartritis de rodilla que cumplian los criterios de ACR y que ingresaron durante el periodo de enero a junio de 2008 en el Servicio Nacional de Reumatologia del H C Q 10 de octubre, con la finalidad de incorporarse aun programa integrador de rehabilitacion, el cual incluyo calor infrarrojo, masajes y ejercicios. Se evaluo la Calidad ce vida relacionada con la respuesta al tratamiento mediante la utilizacion de una adaptacion del cuestionario Western Ontario and Mc Master Universities (WOMAC) para evaluar el dolor, la rigidez y la capacidad funcional de los pacientes estudiados antes y despues del tratamiento (1 mes). En la muestra de nuestro estudio predominaron los pacientes entre 60 y 70 anos , sexo femenino, el tiempo de evolucion mas frecuente fue menos de 5 anos, en la evaluacion inicial el dolor, la rigidez y la capacidad funcional muestran en promedio afectaciones significativas y de una intensidad similar. El exito del esquema terapeutico excede el 50% de mejoria para el dolor, la rigidez y la capacidad funcional (WOMAC) luego de la aplicacion del tratamiento
