Résumé Dès son titre, le recueil Regards et Jeux dans l'espace indique l'attention particulière portée à la disposition de chaque poème dans l'espace du livre par rapport à l'économie générale du texte, aux parties du recueil et plus spécifiquement aux poèmes voisins. Parmi plusieurs diptyques, "Saules- et "Pins à contre-jour" manifestent ce souci de construction et donnent à lire de remarquables parallèles formels et thématiques mis en évidence par une analyse comparée des deux poèmes. Celle-ci montre la précellence de figures oxymoriques à même la contiguïté des textes et rattache cette, interprétation au malaise existentiel de la dualité ou du dédoublement qui traverse et obsède la poésie et la prose de Saint-Denys Garneau.
