C’est un fait largement connu et appréhendé : le Québec se fait vieillissant et les enjeux inhérents au renouvellement et à la formation de la main-d’oeuvre sont devenus une préoccupation majeure. Le mouvement de l’économie sociale n’y échappe pas : attirer la relève (en particulier les jeunes), la former et être en mesure de la « retenir » constituent des défis incontournables pour assurer la pérennité des organisations. En ce sens, les jeunes adultes de 18 à 35 ans représentent une population de choix à étudier en tant que main-d’oeuvre au sein des organisations de l’économie sociale et de l’action communautaire. Le présent article entend examiner quelques dimensions relatives au renouvellement de cette main-d’oeuvre en accordant une attention particulière aux pressions qui s’exercent sur le plan des conditions de travail offertes aux travailleurs et aux travailleuses.
