Abstract
Depuis la tenue du premier Forum social mondial au Brésil en 2001, l’utopie d’un autre monde possible ne cesse de se propager, prenant le contre-pied de l’idéologie néolibérale dont le Forum économique mondial s’est fait le relais. Depuis, des forums sociaux se sont déployés à toutes les échelles d’actions, du global au local. Après un bref rappel des fondements axiologiques de l’utopie altermondialiste, nous nous pencherons sur le cas du forum social québécois (FSQ) comme laboratoire d’expérimentation d’une nouvelle culture politique participative en gestation. Nous rappellerons l’historique de la mise en place ainsi que la logique de fonctionnement de cet espace participatif et inclusif. Nous insisterons finalement sur les défis que devra relever la mouvance altermondialiste au Québec.
