L’objectif de cet article est d’établir les bases d’une planification curriculaire par compétences dans la formation de traducteurs, que nous illustrons à partir de l’initiation à la traduction (vers la langue maternelle). Pour ce faire, nous situons, d’une part, les défis actuels posés par la planification curriculaire et les besoins pédagogiques qu’ils entraînent, et nous exposons, d’autre part, les fondements de la formation par compétences et les caractéristiques de la compétence en traduction. Nous proposons ensuite les bases d’une planification curriculaire par compétences et tâches de traduction dans la formation de traducteurs : le cadre théorique, les catégories de compétences spécifiques, l’opérationnalisation des compétences, la séquenciation, l’élaboration de l’unité didactique et l’évaluation.
