Abstract
Tout en soulignant la diversité des familles homoparentales, cet article situe brièvement leur émergence dans l’historique des changements ayant affecté la famille dans les dernières décennies, notamment la multiplication des situations de pluriparentalité. Il propose ensuite une typologie des recompositions familiales selon le sexe et l’orientation sexuelle des parents. Enfin, à partir d’une recension des recherches empiriques existantes, il compare les familles recomposées homoparentales et hétéroparentales sur quatre dimensions : a) l’expérience de la séparation et du divorce ; b) les rôles sociaux et les relations dans la famille ; c) l’affirmation de l’orientation sexuelle (coming out) vis-à-vis des enfants ; d) la santé et l’adaptation psychosociale.
