Abstract
Abstract Die Probenpräparation hat einen großen Einfluss auf die Qualität von Metabolomikstudien. Der Einsatz der Festphasen‐Mikroextraktion (SPME), besonders in Form ihrer In‐vivo‐Variante, ermöglicht die Erfassung eines repräsentativeren Metaboloms und bietet die Möglichkeit, seltene, kurzlebige Metaboliten und/oder instabile Substanzen zu detektieren, die von traditionellen Methoden nicht leicht erfasst werden. Diese Technik eignet sich ideal sowohl für zeitliche, räumliche und longitudinale Studien des gleichen lebenden Systems als auch für Multikompartimentstudien desselben Organismus. SPME ist für die Untersuchungen von biologischen Systemen geeignet, die in ihrer Komplexität zwischen Zellen und Säugetiergewebe liegen. Dieser Kurzaufsatz präsentiert ausgewählte Beispiele, um diese neue Technik in den Kontext der konventionellen Probenpräparationsmethoden für die Metabolomik einzuordnen.
