Abstract
Dans cet article, le lien fraternel est considéré comme une expression possible de l’intimité. On a tenté de décrire comment l’articulation de la double prescription familiale décrite par De Singly (souci de soi/souci d’autrui) est vécue au plan de la fratrie à l’âge adulte. Cette réflexion prend appui sur une enquête qualitative réalisée au moyen d’entretiens individuels constituant des récits croisés de frères et soeurs d’âge adulte « confirmé », récits réflexifs sur soi et sa famille. Au plan relationnel, ont pu être dégagés des mythes familiaux (« bonne entente » et « atomes crochus ») ainsi que certains rituels et normes de comportement, lesquels ont pour fonction le renforcement de ces mythes ; de ces derniers découlent diverses formes d’intimité fraternelle. En outre, la mémoire familiale est envisagée en tant que possibilité même d’une intimité familiale mais aussi d’une identité intime.
