Contexte : L’évaluation de programme s’impose comme une composante essentielle des programmes de formation. Elle peut mesurer les impacts des réformes. But : L’article décrit une évaluation de programme, de type externe aux milieux, qui favorise par sa démarche formative l’amélioration des cursus. Matériel : Six expériences d’évaluation fournissent la matière d’analyse et proposent des exemples concrets. Résultats : Les dix étapes de cette méthode sont élaborées et étayées de situations pratiques recueillies à partir des cas à l’étude. Les étapes sont variées, par exemple : 1- se familiariser avec le contexte socio-politico-éducatif du milieu sous observation ; 2- exiger un mandat précis, l’officialiser, le faire connaître ; 4- choisir un cadre de référence spécifique ; 5- identifier les biais d’interprétation ; 7- soutenir des activités de liaison-communication ; 10- présenter officiellement le rapport. Discussion : Une série de six difficultés et défis précisent les limites de cette méthode. Conclusion : Les messagesclés pointent vers l’utilité sociale de cette évaluation.
