Abstract
Cet article a pour propos de situer l’économie sociale dans le contexte actuel des relations internationales et transnationales. L’accent est mis sur les facteurs qui devraient inciter les acteurs de l’économie sociale à se méfier ou, au contraire, à se faire des alliés de diverses organisations internationales. Tout en partageant plusieurs valeurs avec d’autres acteurs de la société civile, l’économie sociale est appelée à jouer un rôle original dans la progression de ce que certains appellent aujourd’hui la « mondialisation par le bas ». Cette analyse de conjoncture vise à aider les acteurs de l’économie sociale à faire le meilleur usage possible des principes de confiance et de méfiance nécessaires à la progression de cette « mondialisation par le bas ».
