Abstract
L’auteure explore notre rapport aux valeurs face au pluralisme religieux, défini à la fois comme caractéristique des sociétés contemporaines et comme phénomène aujourd’hui considéré comme particulièrement digne d’intérêt dans les sciences sociales. Elle esquisse les glissements qui guettent les chercheurs lorsque leurs valeurs sont interpellées dans l’étude de la religion. À partir d’un dialogue fictif entre sociologues sur l’identification des motifs religieux, l’auteure retrace brièvement l’étude des motifs au cœur de la sociologie de Max Weber. Parce que le juriste n’est pas aujourd’hui étranger aux débats liés au pluralisme religieux, elle met ensuite en scène un petit dialogue entre sociologues et juristes. Ces deux types d’observateurs conversent sur l’objet, les liens d’affinités et de tensions entre les tâches qui incombent à chacun et, ainsi, sur les limites de leurs disciplines respectives.
