Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

A horizontal-airflow biofilter without a pressurized headspace was designed with the hope of eliminating problems that had been observed with the previous pressurized-headspace design. Seven distinct biofilter units were constructed adjacent to a commercial hog barn in southern Manitoba. Airflow characteristics through the biofilter were mapped; more air exited through the top surface of the biofilter than was anticipated. Zeolite added to the biofilter media (wood chip and compost mixture) enhanced the effectiveness of hydrogen sulfide reduction without negatively affecting airflow characteristics. The proposed comparison of three moisture application systems was unable to be completed because the hay probe moisture meter could not be satisfactorily calibrated in the media.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
