L’étude porte sur le processus de professionnalisation des enseignants de lycées professionnels durant leur année de formation à l’IUFM. Elle s’intéresse aux parcours antérieurs des individus et aux ressources, pragmatiques ou symboliques, mobilisées pour (re)construire une identité professionnelle et pour s’adapter aux nouvelles situations de travail. Les deux études de cas présentées rendent compte de dynamiques identitaires pour des enseignants ayant une expérience professionnelle conséquente dans un domaine autre que l’enseignement. L’analyse éclaire le rapport à la formation dans ce moment de passage. On constate que la mutation d’un métier vers un autre génère des (dis)continuités, liées à la possibilité (ou pas) d’intégrer de nouveaux repères, respectant les valeurs fondatrices d’un rapport juste et cohérent à soi, aux autres, à l’institution.
